Description Tommy's Six-Bid Solo

Tommy's Six-Bid Solo is a shareware, single player card game, in real life it is a three player game but in this implementation the player takes one seat, north and the computer pays for the other two. The game is also known as Slough, Sluff, is of German origin and is descended from an old game called Skat.

The detailed rules of the game are contained in the game and are freely available on the Internet. In brief, the game is played with a standard deck of fifty-two cards from which all twos, threes, fours and fives have been removed, leaving thirty-six cards. Players are dealt eleven cards each, holding back three so that they are not all in play.
Players bid to be the soloist and then play the hand. There are only six possible bids, each of which is progressively more difficult than the last, and they are as follows: Solo - bid to win sixty points, trumps cannot be heartsHeart - same as Solo but hearts are trumpsMisere - play no trumps and bid to get no tricksGuarantee - bid to win eighty points, or only seventy-four if hearts are trumpsMisere - Misere with the bidders hand laid on the table for all to seeCall - bids to win all pointsThe game is controlled entirely with the keyboard. It has basic sound effects and command line switches to start the game with the sound off and to force a color or monochrome display.
