Tower of Souls

Tower of Souls is a video game in the role-playing (rpg) genre developed by Parys Technografx and published by Black Legend Ltd. originally released in 1995. It is currently playable on DOS, Amiga.

Tower of Souls is set in the land of Chaybore where seven crystals are responsible for the welfare of its citizens. But the evil demon Baalhathrok has taken them away and the player controls Treeac to get them back.

In an isometric view, Treeac has to conquer the seven floors of Baalhathrok's tower. The player controls a ball with the mouse and clicks where Treeac should go. Fights are initiated by left-clicking on the enemy, for other actions you have to hold the right mouse button while choosing a symbol at the bottom of the screen. In addition to fighting enemies, the player has to open various doors, either by finding the key, pressing the right buttons in the correct order or by using one of his four lock picks. When using the picks the player has to overcome a mini-game in which he has to make the correct mouse movements.

When searching the dungeon rooms there are various potions, herbs and pieces of magical equipment that can be found. With the herbs the player can mix potions or spells, which are available in four categories: attack, defense, transformation and object manipulation. There is no free save system, but there are special save points during the game. Every time the player wants to save, he has to sacrifice a piece of equipment.
