Pieces, comprised of four blocks, rotate and translate with keyboard input, and the Hold system stores a piece for later use. A soft drop allows incremental descent; the hard drop commits the piece instantly. When a full row is completed, it vanishes and threats and blocks above shift downward. Ttris introduces colorized power cubes that occasionally appear in the stack; collecting or clearing them activates brief effects, such as extra points, a small line clear, or momentary slowing of piece descent. A multi-level ramp increases speed with each cleared level, testing reaction time and planning.

Set in a stylized digital arena, the board rests within a layered, cybernetic backdrop. Visuals lean toward neon-on-dark palettes: cyan, magenta, and lime blocks contrasted against a graphite grid. Translucent UI panels display the score, level, lines, and the next-tile queue, with a "ghost" piece indicating the landing position. The presentation emphasizes clarity of action, with crisp piece outlines and smooth animation during rotation and drop.

An aggressive but balanced audio track accompanies play, blending synthesized percussion with airy leads that escalate as the level increases. Sound effects emphasize impact and clearance: the clack of a block settling, the chime of a line clearing, and the whoosh of a precise hard drop. The audio system supports stereo separation and digital effects, remaining legible at high speed to avoid masking the critical visual cues.

Two play modes extend the single-player puzzle loop: a standard marathon mode with a global high-score table and a time-limited challenge mode featuring bespoke level sets. A hot-seat versus option allows two players to contest on a single keyboard, each aiming for line clears and strategic use of power-cubes to disrupt the opponent. The interface is responsive to keyboard and mouse, with ample configuration options for key mapping, display size, and video acceleration, ensuring smooth play on a range of PC setups.
