Warlord

Warlord is a video game in the adventure genre and published by Interceptor Software originally released in 1985. It is currently playable on ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC.

By the middle of the 1st century, the Romans were sweeping across Britain, defeating the various tribes and taking control of the island. The further north they went, the more difficult it became for them, until they reached the border between England and Scotland and were stopped in their tracks. Try as they might, they could not defeat the Scottish tribes led by a Warlord. As the fighting intensified, the gods on both sides became involved until the ferocity of the armies and gods was so intense that the end of the world was imminent. A truce was called between the Gods and the solution was to take one champion from each side and transport them both to a Celtic Otherworld. The goal now was for each champion to attempt to return to the real world before the other to be declared the victor. You, as Warlord, were chosen by the Celts, while a centurion of the Romans was chosen to try to defeat you.

Warlord is a text adventure game in which the screen has an image to show what you can see while the text describes each location. With the keyboard you type commands to interact with your environment.
