WitchSwitch

WitchSwitch is a video game in the action genre developed by Psychic Engineering Control Group and published by English Software Company, The originally released in 1984. It is currently playable on Commodore 64.

A town is in big trouble with an erupting volcano and a river of molten lava slowly flowing down to destroy the town. The only person who can save the town is a wizard with the power of reversal, but he can only be reached and picked up by the local witch. The problem is that the witch is under an evil spell and needs a magic powder to become good again. Now it's up to a monkey and an owl to cross various locations carrying a bag with the powder that will save the village.

First you control the monkey seen from the side at a high angle, and his first task is to cross the black swamp but there is only one way and the only ones who know it are the goblins. You have to lasso a goblin who will then walk across a screen that scrolls using the mushrooms that appear and you must walk behind him. There are plants to avoid and birds that will try to break the lasso, but a wag of the tail sends them away.

Once through the swamp, you have to cross a bridge, but crows don't like people crossing the bridge, so you have to throw stones at them to kill a certain amount in one screen. From time to time a cat on a broom will appear and you have to jump on it as it crosses the screen from right to left. Once the crows are dead and you cross the bridge, you hand the bag to an owl. The owl must now fly over a shifting acid lake, avoiding touching any creatures or lightning from a storm cloud and once across you will appear in a forest.

In the forest you must avoid touching creatures once again in a single screen, and you must avoid a snail crossing the forest floor. Once the screen is completed you can drop the bag into the witch's cauldron and she can leave for the wizard to pick it up and finally save the village. If you touch any creature or obstacle in the game then you lose one of the five lives and there are ten skill levels (0-9) to choose from.
