Wizardry 8 is a 2001 Windows game and the eighth and final game in the Wizardry series. It was developed by Sir-tech Canada and published by Sir-tech Software. The game is a first-person party-based role-playing game.
The story of Wizardry 8 begins where Wizardry 7: Crusaders of the Dark Savant left off. The player's party has just destroyed the Dark Savant and saved the universe from his plans. However, in doing so, they have also unleashed a powerful evil known as the Immortals. The Immortals are now wreaking havoc on the universe and it is up to the player's party to stop them.
The game features a brand new 3D engine and is significantly larger than any of the previous games in the series. The game is also much more difficult than the previous games. It features a new class system which allows the player to create custom characters.
Wizardry 8 was very well received by critics and is considered to be one of the best games in the series. It was nominated for multiple awards and won several, including the GameSpot Editor's Choice Award for Best Role-Playing Game.
