Atari 8-bit’s Word Olympics was an interactive and educational pastime that captivated gamers of all ages when it was released in 1983. Word Olympics offered nine categories—meant to test different types of english-language abilities—including Four Letter Words, Synonyms, Opposites, and Anagrams. Players tried to amass the highest score by identifying the requested words before the timer ran out.

Its interface consisted of either a series of boxes or a grid, depending on the level, and entrants need to locate the matching word pictured in the center.
