Description Worm Burner

An adaptation of Gridrunner, in which the player has to defend Earth from a pack of ravenous space worms, which have apparently developed a particular appetite for the planets of the Solar System. The action takes place along a grid; the player's ship is free to move along the lower rows, although it can only shoot upwards. Each wave of attacks brings more marauding creatures into the fray.

The worms descend from the top in the form of centipedes, weaving and snaking across the playing field. When you knock down a worm segment, the creature will only split in two; the destroyed segment will continue to block traffic as it mutates. Eventually, it will break away from the net, destroying everything in its path. The defense grid is equipped with two automatic laser cannons that prowl around the edges and try to take out intruders, but they only make matters worse: getting caught in the crossfire is bad news for the player's ship.
