Xecutor

Xecutor is a video game in the action genre developed by Cybadyne and published by ACE originally released in 1987. It is currently playable on ZX Spectrum.

The Zedar region of the Horsehead Nebula has been classified as 'forbidden'. The pilots of the Mark-7 Quantillion ship heading for Star Wars on Questron Minor decided to put this definition to the test. Although they later regretted their decision, there was nothing they could do about it: trapped in space, surrounded by zedar ships on all sides, the pilots realize that they will have to show their best skills to survive.

Xecutor is a vertical scrolling shoot-em-up similar to Master Blaster. The player can venture out to defeat the Zedar alone, or play with a friend controlling another ship on the same screen. The gameplay concept is simple, but the game can be difficult to master or even complete, as it is necessary to memorize the attack patterns of enemies or final bosses. It can be controlled with the keyboard, a joystick or any combination between the two. Power-ups that can be collected by defeating enemies include more powerful weapons, additional firepower (up to three times the normal amount), dual and triple lasers, penetrating missiles, explosive pods and shields.
