Description Zarathrusta

Zarathrusta is a cave flying game influenced by Thrust. Apparently, resistance forces have captured a number of spaceships, which could help in the fight against the empire. However, these ships need fuel, and that fuel is in the form of 'klystron capsules', which must be retrieved from a series of hostile environments.

Your task is to fly your small spaceship above and below the earth, capturing the pods. Your spaceship can rotate through 360 degrees, allowing you to move easily through cave systems, were it not for gravity pulling you down, and inertia, which means you could crash into walls or other objects if you don't turn and propel yourself in the other direction.

Each level is beaten by retrieving klystron pods, which are the same as the ball you pick up in Thrust. Pick up the pod with your tractor beam, and a tow cable will be attached. However, towing the ball means you have another object altering your course; if you break quickly, the forces of inertia will cause the ball to move forward, pulling you in its direction. At later levels, the pod becomes heavier, and must be pulled using a force field. Traveling too fast will cause the ball to leave the field, forcing you to pick it up again, possibly in a very dangerous area.

The levels are guarded by cannons, which can be shot down using your conventional cannon or a laser cannon. However, be careful, because the laser consumes your fuel reserves very quickly. Refueling is possible by activating the tractor beam on the fuel capsules located along the levels.

While Thrust used vector graphics, Zarathrusta uses bitmaps.
