3001: O'Connors Fight

3001: O'Connors Fight is a video game in the strategy genre and published by Rainbow Arts Software GmbH originally released in 1990. It is currently playable on Amiga.

In 001: O'Connors Fight, the player assumes the role of John O'Connor, one of six space lords fighting for dominance of the space empire. The main menu of the game consists of two parts: the space map with all planets (in animated 3D or top-down view) and the menu with up to four commands. The basic idea is that overlords need to visit the planets they own to adjust their production approach: spaceships are used to defend the planets and fuel is needed to move them around the empire.

More planets are acquired by attacking them. The result is calculated automatically and is based on the number of defending and attacking troops. A special case comes into effect when a space lord is on the attacked planet: the winner of the fight instantly receives all planets of the loser. A lord is permanently removed from the game after the second personal defeat; the goal is to unite all planets under O'Connor's rule. Sometimes there is an action sequence in which the player has to move the spaceship (by pressing the cursor keys) to avoid obstacles.
