Description Alien Incident

Alien Incident is a fun and unpretentious sci-fi adventure game, ideal for young adventurers because of its familiar plot and simple puzzles.

You play the role of a teenager named Benjamin who is visiting his uncle's house for Halloween. His uncle, a home scientist, tries to activate his latest invention, the wormhole generator. Surprisingly, it works and opens a wormhole to another galaxy, transporting an alien spaceship to Earth. The aliens kidnap your uncle and, surprisingly, your mission is to rescue him (and the world, but you already knew that).

Strategy Plus sums up the game's appeal nicely as follows: GameTek's Alien Incident must have been developed with novice gamers in mind, and in that respect it seems to be heading in the right direction. Along with its clever animation and interesting storyline, it reinforces for the new or younger gamer the idea that a fun and challenging game doesn't have to include violence. . . .

The tone of the game is well established from the start and is nicely maintained throughout. You can't expect to rescue your uncle and foil the aliens' plans without some obstacles, so of course there's the usual clever collection and deployment of assorted puzzle objects.

On the downside, Alien Incident does seem to crash from time to time. But even when this happens, the game has an automatic recovery system. For example, if the game crashes for any reason, the next time you start it you will see that it has performed a 'disaster save' and will ask you if you want to start where you left off. Sounds like a crash or two was expected, doesn't it?

Parents will want to add this game to their shopping lists, as the story is fun and easy to follow, and the interface intuitive enough to learn with little training. Recommended primarily for the family, this non-violent fun should prove entertaining for Mom and Dad, as well as Billy and Sue Ellen . . . assuming they can put up with the occasional glitch'.
