Amulet of Yendor is a cheap Rogue rip-off, included in Keypunch's Swords and Sorcery package.
The plot is simple: break into a castle to retrieve the magical Orb of Yendor. Anyone who has played Rogue (or later derivatives like NetHack) will immediately recognize the name Yendor and the elements of the game, although Amulet of Yendor has some interesting features not often seen. Among them, the ability to transport yourself (once you find the runic staff), look into the crystal ball (50% chance of seeing the truth) and use a lamp (allows you to look into an adjacent room).
Other than that, the game is a fairly straightforward Roguelike with little to recommend it. There are only 12 types of monsters, 3 spells, and that's about it. It's worth a look only if you collect Roguelike games.
