Description Arachnoid

Arachnoid is a fixed-screen shoot 'em up in which the player takes control of a spider that has to defend its eggs from hostile ants. The game is very similar to Centipede. The ants attack in rows, moving horizontally one at a time until they reach the player, who moves across the lower sections of the screen. Unlike Centipede, there are no obstacles at first, but as the player shoots his web at the ants a wall of webs is created. This causes the ants to change direction. In addition to the ants, there are mosquitoes and flies that can drag the ants along and open passages in the wall. There are also wasps that move around the screen at times. The game continues until the eggs hatch or they have all been taken by the ants. Once the eggs hatch, the player moves on to a new, more difficult level.
