Arthur's 1st Grade

Arthur's 1st Grade is a video game in the educational genre developed by Presage Software, Inc. and published by Creative Wonders LLC originally released in 1999. It is currently playable on Windows.

Arthur's 1st Grade is an educational game for children ages five to seven that teaches different skills based on the American curriculum for first graders. It is based on the book series by Marc Brown. The game comes on two discs. The first is based on the story of 'Bionic Bunny's Good Deeds Contest'. Binky, D. W. , Muffy, Brain, Francine, Arthur and Buster are tasked by Mr. Ratburn to compete and perform good deeds. The winner gets to meet the superhero Bionic Bunny. Each character represents a different type of activity with three skill levels. The second disc is an activity center with musical activities and printable worksheets and games. Players can also create storybooks and flashcards. There are nine activities and 50 games in all. Skills developed are math, reading, vocabulary, spelling, creativity and strategy. Some games can be played with two players. Arthur provides hints and tips if a player gets stuck. There is an automatic leveling function and progress reports. A map can be used to move around and there is a score checker for progress.

In story mode the games have altruistic goals. Muffy collects garbage in the park and needs to progress through the tiles by making beads. Buster needs to help a character in the order who can no longer go outside. It depicts objects in scenes and the player has to choose the correct ones based on the pictures. Francine helps practice measurements by cutting candy in The Sugar Bowl. In another, a log-filled stream must be negotiated for Binky to help cross. In the Brain mini-game you have to program a computer for Mrs. Baxter by choosing the correct letters to complete words. For D. W. there is a board game in which you have to cross a carpet to reach a baby by following clues based on colors and shapes. In another you have to complete a word quilt by spelling words. Arthur also has to complete sentence boards for Mr. Ratburn.
