Ballistic, a 2004 Windows game developed for the first game studios, is an action packed shooter game with lots of fun. It requires its players to navigate their way through hordes of enemies to complete their mission.

The objective of Ballistic is for the players to fulfill their mission while trying to destroy their enemies. The game is set in two different environments; Earth and a near future moon base. Players have access to a diverse arsenal of weapons throughout the battles. Besides outside adversaries, the game requires the players to take down both bosses and their individual squad members. As the levels progress, they become increasingly harder, with more enemies and more complex game play.

Ballistic starts of with a mission briefing which explains the mission's objectives and the restrictions applied to the mission. As the player progresses through the missions, they will be rewarded with additional equipment, weapons and upgrades as they discover and complete secret bonus challenges.

The graphics of the game are detailed and visually appealing, given its era. The sound clips are unique, as they match the action and the music is dynamic depending on how deep the player is in the game. Furthermore, there is an extra layer of intensity and suspense that comes with the cut scenes found in the later levels.

Players are offered a couple of difficulty settings to determine how challenging the game can be. Of course, the amount of enemy activity, their armaments and their aggressiveness will differ based on the difficulty selected.

Given its great graphics, interesting sound clips and game play, Ballistic is an enjoyable shooter game that progressed and evolved with each level. Action-oriented gamers will find themselves hooked and entertained for hours while playing this classic.
