Battle Probe

Battle Probe is a video game in the action genre developed by Capital Software Designs Ltd and published by Crysys originally released in 1988. It is currently playable on Atari ST.

Long after the Human Race left Earth and traveled to the Sol Solar System, some thoughts arose about returning to Earth. As the aliens occupied the abandoned Earth, the 'Confederation Council of the Human Race' decided to send a ship to Earth to conquer the home planet again.

Of course, the player takes control of that Battle Probe and makes his way through 65 levels to drive out the aliens by simply killing them all in this vertical scrolling shooter game.

The player is attacked by shooting and moving aliens, but must also avoid any obstacles on the ground that drop a shadow carefully, because those will kill the player instantly. During the level, the player's ship is consuming fuel, which he has to refill by flying over the 'fuel' fields. On the ground there are also often colored eyes: a blue eye rewards some extra points, a yellow eye rewards an extra life and a green eye releases a random effect. When you collect extras, the game plays a voice sample telling you which item you have collected.
