Captain Gather

Captain Gather is a video game in the puzzle genre and published by L.K. Avalon originally released in 1992. It is currently playable on Atari 8-bit.

Captain Gather is a puzzle game similar to Sokoban. The premise is that a space vehicle must clear several planets of nuclear waste by pushing the waste to make it detonate.

Each level is a small maze with boxes of debris scattered about. The player's goal is to push the waste to arrange it in the correct pattern; each waste box has a fragment of a pipe, and the waste pushed together must form a single continuous pipe. When this is achieved, the player moves on to the next level.

The player's vehicle can only push objects one block at a time, not pull them; if an object gets stuck near a wall or in a corner where it shouldn't be, there is no choice but to restart the level. To complicate things further, the levels also have ordinary, useless boxes scattered around that you have to move out of the way. And each level has a time limit.

There are a limited number of lives, and a life is lost if the player runs out of time or restarts a level. Every few levels passwords are given to save progress.
