Description Challenger
Challenger is a side-scrolling shooter with similarities to Scramble and Defender. As in the former, the player pilots a spaceship over a terrain full of enemy installations, but as in the latter the player can change direction and fly both left and right. The objective of each level is to clear the terrain and this can be done by firing laser beams directly or by dropping bombs. Fuel is limited and must be refilled by dropping bombs into the fuel tanks. If you take too long to clear the terrain, the aliens mutate and go after the player. Other things to watch out for are rockets, nuggets and quads. The quads appear at level 2 and at level 3 they start dropping pips. A limited amount of shields can be used to protect yourself.
