Circus

Circus is a video game in the action genre developed by Cymbal Software, Inc. and published by Wildest Dreams originally released in 1984. It is currently playable on Commodore 64.

You have entered the grounds of a Circus and the objective is to complete three tents and the Big Top within a time limit to move on to the next level. Each tent is made up of several individual screens and each must be completed before attempting another tent or the Big Top in any order. You start at the door of the venue viewed from a high angle and try to get to the first tent or Big Top, but there are people walking in the direction you are moving and if you touch a person, you go back to the door losing valuable seconds. The three tents and the Big Tent involve the following tasks:

Tent One: Viewed from the side there are four screens to traverse reaching from the left of the screen to the right. Each screen has barrels that fall, pipes that move, blocks that move, and ribbons that move up and down carrying boxes. If you touch any obstacle, you start over from the left on the screen you are on.

Tent two: You are in a maze viewed from a high angle and must make your way from the left of the screen to the right while avoiding ghosts, flying arrows and flying flames. The ghosts wander around the maze and you must avoid them or you turn to the left of the screen. If you find yourself in the path of an arrow or flame, you can press the fire button to receive limited immunity.

Tent 3: A first-person shooter in which you have to shoot as many balloons and plates as you can while the edge slowly disappears.

Tent: Here you have the opportunity to perform three acts on three side screens in front of a crowd where you can do trapeze, tightrope and be a human cannonball. On the trapeze you will try to go from the left to the right of the screen by swinging and catching three swings. On the tightrope you must try to go from the left ladder to the right by walking on the tightrope while avoiding the birds by jumping on them. In the human bullet you have to try to catch the string of a balloon by firing the cannon at the right time. If you pop the balloon or miss any act, you will start on the left of the screen in the act you are playing.
