County Fair

County Fair is a video game in the action genre and published by Datamost, Inc. originally released in 1981. It is currently playable on Apple II.

County Fair is a shooting gallery game, in the tradition of amusement parks around the world. As in Carnival, the player's gun can be waved recklessly left and right along the bottom of the screen; the goal: rack up as many points as you can by eliminating moving targets, until you run out of bullets. Accuracy is a must, especially when aiming at the well-protected trees in the background. If you take too long to eliminate them all, the smaller targets will start to reappear, so speed also counts.

From time to time special targets will appear, which can give you extra bullets or take them away. Not all targets are easy: surprisingly, the ducks are the most proactive: these beaked thugs will try to break formation and swoop down to gobble up your ammo. If you manage to clear the screen, you'll face the legendary bonus duck at the end of the round, before moving on to the next (and faster) level.
