Cybotron

Cybotron is a video game in the action genre and published by Anirog Software Ltd. originally released in 1984. It is currently playable on Commodore 64.

Over the years, since the first design was announced in 2001, robots with the ability to think have increased and their intelligence has grown at a rapid rate. Over the years, humans have relied on robots to perform all their tasks and thus have become lazy, and eventually the manufacturing of robots has been left to the robots themselves. The robots have come to the conclusion that there is no place for humans and have decided to crush them all, so the Trons, Brains, Armedroids, Pulsars, Enforcer Droids and Electrodes run amok killing every human they encounter.

Cybotron is a single screen shooter game seen from a high angle and is inspired by the arcade game Robotron 2084 in which you must destroy all the robots on the screen to move to the next level. If you touch any robot you lose one of three lives, but you are armed with a laser. Two joysticks can be selected, one of which controls your movements while the other controls the direction of your shots. Humans also walk around the screen and can be picked up for bonus points.
