Hunkidory

Hunkidory is a video game in the action genre and published by Bug-Byte Software Ltd. originally released in 1986. It is currently playable on BBC Micro, Electron.

Hunkidory is a platform game in which the player takes control of Dave the Dungroid who is locked up in the prisons of his home planet Hunkydory. Dave doesn't like this very much and with the player's help he begins his journey through the planet's dungeons with the goal of escaping.

The game consists of 20 single-screen levels. The goal of each level is to collect all the valves that are scattered around and get to the door that leads to the next level. However, Dave is not alone, as the 21 different aliens in the game do their best to prevent his escape. In addition, Dave also has to avoid running into the deadly spikes that protrude throughout the levels. The controls are simple and typical for a platform game: move left and right and jump. When approaching one of the aliens, Dave can also use his shield to take them out. The problem is that Dave needs energy to function and using the shield will quickly deplete it.
