Air Diver

Genesis 1990
A terrorist organization led by a fanatic operating out of the Middle East has assembled a military force capable of holding the entire world hostage, backed by a host of evil governments. The player has to board an F-119 stealth fighter and go unnoticed while eliminating all opposition. While technically boarding a stealth fighter, there are no stealth elements involved. After choosing one of the various locations on the map, the player is shown flying from a first-person cockpit perspective and enemies seem to have no trouble locating the player's aircraft. In the different solo missions, the player has to eliminate all opponents using normal bullets and lock-on missiles. All statistics, including time remaining before running out of fuel and enemies on radar, are displayed on the cockpit HUD. The ship can move left and right, and use a boost to make sideways turns or complete loops to get behind enemies. Some shots can be fired, which cause body damage, but incoming missiles are usually deadly and must be shot or avoided. In addition to normal enemies, there are also a few aerial bosses. Missions take place all over the world during different times of the day.

Keiba Saishō no Hōsoku

3DO 1994
Keiba Saishō no Hōsoku, also known as Horse Racing: The Ultimate Rule, is a revolutionary horse racing game that was released for the 3DO gaming platform in 1994. Developed by KAZe and published by Panasonic, this game brought a whole new level of realism to the world of horse racing simulation games. One of the standout features of Keiba Saishō no Hōsoku is the level of detail put into the game's graphics. From the beautifully rendered horses to the intricately designed race tracks, every element of this game is visually stunning. The 3DO's capabilities allowed for a smooth and realistic depiction of horse movements, adding to the overall immersive experience. The gameplay mechanics of Keiba Saishō no Hōsoku also set it apart from other horse racing games of its time. Players can not only bet on races but also take part in the races themselves as jockeys. The game offers a variety of different race modes, including Grand Prix, where players compete against other jockeys in a series of races, and Free Run, where players can practice and hone their racing skills. But what truly made Keiba Saishō no Hōsoku stand out was its attention to detail in replicating the real-life world of horse racing. The game features licensed real-world horses and race tracks, and even allows players to customize their own jockey and horse. The game also takes into account factors such as weather and track conditions, adding a realistic challenge to the races. Another unique aspect of Keiba Saishō no Hōsoku is its simulation mode, where players can manage their own stable of horses. In this mode, players must make strategic decisions about training and racing their horses, as well as managing their finances. This adds a whole new layer of depth to the game and keeps players engaged for hours on end. Furthermore, the game's sound design is top-notch. The sounds of the horses galloping and the cheers of the crowd create an immersive atmosphere that makes players feel like they are actually at the race track. The soundtrack, composed by Michiya Hirasawa, also adds to the overall excitement of the game. Despite its age, Keiba Saishō no Hōsoku still holds up as a highly enjoyable game for horse racing enthusiasts. Its realistic graphics, immersive gameplay, and attention to detail make it a timeless classic. While the game was only released in Japan, it has gained a cult following among international gamers, further solidifying its status as one of the most impressive horse racing games of its time. So, if you are a fan of horse racing or just enjoy immersive and realistic simulation games, Keiba Saishō no Hōsoku is a must-try on the 3DO platform.
