Xecutor
The Zedar region of the Horsehead Nebula has been classified as 'forbidden'. The pilots of the Mark-7 Quantillion ship heading for Star Wars on Questron Minor decided to put this definition to the test. Although they later regretted their decision, there was nothing they could do about it: trapped in space, surrounded by zedar ships on all sides, the pilots realize that they will have to show their best skills to survive.
Xecutor is a vertical scrolling shoot-em-up similar to Master Blaster. The player can venture out to defeat the Zedar alone, or play with a friend controlling another ship on the same screen. The gameplay concept is simple, but the game can be difficult to master or even complete, as it is necessary to memorize the attack patterns of enemies or final bosses. It can be controlled with the keyboard, a joystick or any combination between the two. Power-ups that can be collected by defeating enemies include more powerful weapons, additional firepower (up to three times the normal amount), dual and triple lasers, penetrating missiles, explosive pods and shields.
Yeti
Yeti, released in 1988 by Commodore 64, is a classic platformer that centers around an abominable snowman's quest to collect a hundred tomatoes. Players are required to navigate the obstacles in each level in order to successfully retrieve the tomatoes while avoiding the dangerous creatures.
This game includes side-scrolling action and colorful graphics that gives the snow environment a beautiful, whimsical setting. The game also includes puzzles that require tactical thought and fast reactions to be solved. Players must think ahead and use their agility and dexterity to navigate the various levels.
Throughout the game, the snowman will confront enemies such as, Tigers, Penguins, Robots and a Snow Monster, all of which provide plentiful obstacles and foes for the player. It is the challenge of overcoming these adversaries that makes the game that much more compelling.
What's more,Yeti encourages exploration and discovery. As a player progresses through the levels, they will acquire more equipment, such as skis and theYetisphere, an umbrella-like shield, that will help them on their journey. As these items are collected and used, they are necessary to make longer jumps and access difficult areas that the player would not be able to otherwise.
In addition to the items that aid in the level completion, bonus objects like snowballs give the player extra points. With every bonus object collected, the snowman will be awarded a balloon ride that will send him to the next level. On the other hand, the loss of all three lives will result in the end of the game.
Yeti is a classic game that provided endless entertainment for gamers in the late 80s. It has all the components of great platform fun. It features catchy visuals, variety of obstacles, and an enjoyable storyline that will capture the attention of any player and will have them gaming for hours.
