C'est La Vie
Jacques has to collect ten, twenty and fifty dollar bills scattered around the streets of New York before time runs out. He must also be on the lookout for muggers and tax collectors prowling the streets for victims. If one of them catches Jacques, they will relentlessly pursue him until they catch him. Once Jacques is caught, a tax collector will steal 50% of his earnings, and a mugger will steal everything. Crashing into walls will land Jacques in a hospital for treatment and will also land him a bill for $200.
When he earns enough money, he can deposit it safely in the bank. Alternatively, Jacques can buy or sell stocks on Wall Street, but how much stock he gets depends on the current state of the stock market. If Jacques runs out of money, he can get a loan of up to $10,000, and he has two months to repay the loan. If Jacques does not pay back the loan within two months, loan shark Ed will send one of his goons to find Jacques and strip him of his money and put him in a hospital. The idea is to make Jacques as rich as possible.
Star Maze
Star Maze, released in 1983, is a classic Commodore 64 game that has left a lasting impression on the gaming community. Developed by the renowned software company, Commodore Gaming, this game is a masterpiece in its own right. It has paved the way for many other sci-fi based adventure games and has become a cult favorite among gamers.
The game takes place in a futuristic world, where the player takes on the role of a space explorer who is on a mission to retrieve a lost artifact. The artifact, known as the "Star Jewel", is of great importance to the galaxy and is believed to hold immense power. The player must navigate through a series of mazes and overcome obstacles to reach the Star Jewel, all while avoiding the clutches of alien creatures who are after the same treasure.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Star Maze is its graphics. The game is visually stunning, with vibrant colors and detailed backgrounds that transport the player to a different world. The developers have put great care into every aspect of the game's design, from the smallest details of the mazes to the characters and their movements. This attention to detail is what sets Star Maze apart from other games of its time.
But Star Maze is not just about stunning graphics, it also boasts an immersive gameplay experience. The mazes are challenging and require strategic thinking to navigate through them. The player must collect keys, open doors, and use special gadgets to progress through the levels. As the player advances, the difficulty increases, and the mazes become more complex, providing a sense of achievement every time a level is completed.
The game's soundtrack is also worth mentioning, as it adds an extra layer of excitement to the gameplay. The futuristic sound effects and catchy background music perfectly complement the space theme of the game. They add to the overall immersive experience and keep the player engaged throughout the game.
Star Maze also offers a multiplayer option, allowing friends to compete against each other in completing the mazes. This feature adds to the game's replay value, making it a favorite among friends who can spend endless hours trying to outdo each other's scores.
