Blue: Will to Power
The Kingdom of Isht was the most powerful kingdom on the continent and considered itself the guardian of peace. However, that peace was shattered when its northern neighbor, Seden, invaded without warning. After a prolonged war, Jean, a knight of Isht, married Claire, daughter of the Duke of Seden, who was strong in battle and skilled in diplomacy, thus consolidating the peaceful coexistence of the two countries. However, Jean lost his life in a rebellion that broke out in Seden. Blessed by his noble ancestors, his son must follow in his footsteps and bring peace and glory to his homeland.
Blue Will to Power is a Japanese-style RPG with many of the traditional elements of the genre, such as top-down world map navigation, turn-based combat, and a simple level system. One notable feature it shares with other Kinkakuji RPGs is the conversation system. Each NPC can be asked for one of four things: information, join a group, negotiate, or fight. Many NPCs will agree to join your party, but they can be quite numerous.
Free Will: Knight of Argent
The protagonist of this game is an apprentice swordsman who lives in a remote tower and learns martial arts from the old master Daido. One day, the tower receives bad news. The hero's father, Allen, a great knight, has disappeared. Blessed by a wise man, the hero immediately sets out on a long journey to find the missing knight and a companion who can help him.
Free Will: Knight of Argent contains elements of traditional Japanese RPGs, such as top-down world map navigation, random battles, and simple character growth (automatic leveling up). However, there are some features not often seen in games of this genre: every time you interact with an NPC, you are presented with a menu consisting of four options. Every time you interact with an NPC, a menu appears with four options: Information, Companions, Justice and Negotiation. 'Information' corresponds to normal conversations with NPCs, while 'Negotiation' is mainly used to buy items in the store, but can also be used to trigger events in certain situations. The other two commands are more interesting: you can persuade NPCs to join your party. This is not dependent on story events, and since there are many characters to join, it is possible to create a very different and much larger group. The 'Justice' command basically attacks NPCs on the spot. Most of the time, however, the battle is over quickly and the main character is in what the game calls a 'Welcome to Heaven' state.
