A.S.L.E.: Die Tierspürnasen - Katzenraub im Vogelviertel
When it comes to gaming, the 2006 release of A.S.L.E: Die Tierspürnasen – Katzenraub im Vogelviertel is one of the most creative games that have ever graced the Windows platform. Created by German software developer, Software 2000, this games casts players as members of the Animal Search and Rescue League of Europe (ASLLE).
Whilst the primary objective of the ASLLE team is to return lost animals to their rightful owners, the game casts players in the role of a special task force called the Animal Sniffers (Tierspürnasen). That's right, they have the job to track down first signs of cat burglary in the birds' quarter of their hometown. Armed with tracking and photographic skills, players must traverse their town, avoiding obstacles and enemies, whilst searching for clues of the feline criminal enterprise.
To further immerse themselves in the game, players must perform and complete a range of interesting mini-games. These mini-games, often linked to the standard puzzles and levels, allow players to strengthen skills such as observation and outsmart opponents. Players may also need to use and combine creative thinking in order to complete tricky mini-games, such as memory tests, pipe puzzles, and much more.
As a splendid bonus for all players, the game also features a wide range of bonus levels, more puzzles, and interesting additional areas. Furthermore, players can choose from three difficulty levels to make sure they're able to get the most out of their game experience. By selecting the Single Player mode, gamers can also try to untangle all of the mysteries of the ASLLE, or plan against others through LAN for a team-based gameplay.
Thanks to its unique blend of animal rescue, detectives, and puzzles, A.S.L.E.: Die Tierspürnasen – Katzenraub im Vogelviertel is an entertaining game that offers hours of gaming fun. It is suitable for all ages and is sure to please both old and young alike.
Railroad Pioneer
It is 1830 in the new American frontier and people are beginning to realize how big the country is. In an effort to bring people together, something must be built to trade goods and transport people. This something is the railroad.
As the owner of a railroad, you must lay tracks, maintain trains, and generally make a profit in order to expand. The ultimate goal is to create a transcontinental railroad linking New York to California. But beware, natural obstacles, rude highwaymen and competing companies will get in your way and try to stop you. You will also have to keep an eye on supply and demand to make sure that the train picks up the goods it needs at each station and that they are the most profitable. Successful expansion will result in upgrades to locomotives, wagons, production areas and skills.
The game itself is an isometric construction and management game. Your only controls are where to lay track, where to direct and supply locomotives to, and where to direct your geographers (people on foot). Different buildings allow you to build more pieces of your train, adjust the production of certain facilities and take on special missions that occasionally appear. Getting goods to where they are needed most will reward you with a steady bank flow and allow your empire to expand.
