Apachacha

DOS 1993
Apachacha is a side-scrolling action game with slight platforming elements, starring a Native American warrior who must save the land from an evil demon and his minions. The player advances from stage to stage in a strictly linear fashion. The stages themselves are fairly simple, dominated by enemies rather than hazards. The warrior can accumulate and use several throwing weapons simultaneously, and also execute a powerful melee attack that depletes his special energy bar. This bar can be restored with the objects left by the enemies when defeated. Each stage ends with a boss battle. The game has no save function.

This includes managing resources, negotiating with other groups, and choosing the best route to their destination. The game also offers a variety of missions and side quests, providing endless hours of gameplay. The graphics in Armageddon are for its time, with detailed depictions of the post-apocalyptic world. From ruined cities to barren landscapes, every scene in the game adds to the overall atmosphere of despair and chaos. In addition to its gameplay and graphics, Armageddon also boasts a diverse cast of characters. Players can encounter various NPCs, each with their own personalities and backstories. Eracha

DOS 1996
Erachacha is a cute and funny platformer from Korean publisher Mirinae Software, starring a cute goblin of the same name. The plot is a typical oriental folk tale about ghosts, but it will probably be exotic to western players: a long time ago, the King of the Dark World, a kindly demon, came to earth on vacation. After learning of the Dark King's visit, an evil demon thought this would be his chance to conquer Earth, so he tricked the vacationing king into allowing ghosts to enter the earthly realm. Released to wreak havoc on Earth, the ghosts quickly flocked to their new playground, endangering everyone on the planet. Among the creatures of Earth was a brave pixie named Erachacha. After returning to his village one day to find that it had been attacked by ghosts, he took the Thunder Club, which was the treasure of his goblin village, and prepared to rid the land of its ghostly attackers and their diabolical leader. The game is played from the usual 2D side-scrolling perspective, with attractive VGA graphics and sound effects. The game features over 30 frames per second even on the 386. Multi-screen scrolling, unique enemies (again, for Western players) encompassing a wide variety of ghosts, and excellent puzzle-oriented level design make the game a lot of fun to play. Erachacha has many cute and fun actions, including some very imaginative weapons to discover. Overall, Erachacha is an excellent release from the East that platform game fans should check out. Highly recommended.
