Champions World Class Soccer
This soccer game offers 32 national teams to play, with no player names displayed. Shown from a slightly tilted third-person side perspective, players can play an exhibition match, a full tournament, or take on a human player in the 2-player exhibition mode. Different teams are ranked by speed, offense and defense, and different team formations can be selected.
The gameplay is very basic: players can pass, shoot, face and a third button is used to switch players. In the options menu, you can disable fouls and offsides, you can determine the amount of time per half and there is a radar and a minimap to follow the other players. The European edition is endorsed by Ryan Giggs and the game uses a password system to continue the tournaments.
Facts in Action
Facts in Action is an educational quiz game for one or two players. It can be controlled with either the keyboard or the mouse.
After selecting the type of game to be played, the player(s) is shown a 5x5 grid of tiles with pictures and a voice announces 'Find. . . '. The player whose turn it is to choose a tile is rewarded with a 'Wow, you're really smart' comment, a brief animation inside the tile, and one or two basic facts. If they miss, the game announces 'No! That's a. . . '.
Correct answers remove a tile from the screen, revealing part of the image underneath. When all tiles are removed, a brief animation of that image plays and you can play again.
The shareware version of the game has only four categories: Prehist. Animals, which deals with dinosaurs, World History, Basic Science and Spanish. A curious feature is that you can play with one, several or all of the categories.
Jeopardy!
