China Syndrome
Spectra Island's reactors supply electricity to millions of residents. Normally there are no problems, but an earthquake occurred. This damaged the reactor and released radioactive particles. You have to use a robotic arm to retrieve these particles before the radiation builds up and causes a meltdown.
There are three sections on one screen. From the top, they are color-coded: red, blue and yellow. You start with a particle in each area, and you have to move the robotic arm to intercept these particles, and when the particle reaches the robotic arm, you have to press the fire button to grab the particle.
However, if we are too late, the particles will split as they bounce back, increasing the radiation dose. If the radiation is too strong, one of the robotic arms will be lost. Also, in the last half of the game, the robotic arm will be destroyed if it collides with the circulation fan, which you also have to avoid. The game ends when you pass level 9 and get out of trouble, or when you lose the last robotic arm and the reactor melts down.
Cross Force
Cross Force is a classic Atari 2600 game that was released in 1983. Developed by Spectravision, this game combines elements of action and strategy to create an engaging and challenging gameplay experience.
The premise of Cross Force is simple yet captivating - players control a spaceship that must navigate through a hostile alien landscape and destroy all the enemy bases and ships in their path. The game is divided into three stages, each with its own set of challenges and obstacles. As players progress through the stages, the difficulty level increases, keeping them on their toes and making for an addictive gameplay experience.
One of the most notable aspects of Cross Force is its graphics. While most Atari 2600 games of the time relied on simple blocky graphics, this game stood out with its detailed and colorful visuals. The spaceship and enemy designs are creative and well-crafted, adding to the overall immersive experience of the game.
The gameplay of Cross Force is also enhanced by its sound effects and music. The game features a catchy and upbeat soundtrack that keeps players engaged, while the sound effects of laser blasts and explosions add a satisfying touch to the gameplay. These elements work together to create an immersive atmosphere that transports players into the world of Cross Force.
A unique aspect of Cross Force is its use of strategy. In addition to dodging and shooting enemies, players must also plan their movements carefully to navigate through obstacles and reach their targets. This adds an extra layer of complexity to the game and keeps players engaged as they strategize their next move.
Furthermore, Cross Force also features a two-player mode, allowing players to compete against each other and see who can achieve the highest score. This adds a social aspect to the game, making it perfect for a fun game night with friends and family.
Gangster Alley
The S. B. I. (Spectravision Bureau of Investigation) investigates Chicago Joe and his gang.
In retaliation for Chicago Joe's arrest, the gang has taken refuge in an apartment and is holding a woman and her child hostage. The following men are identified.
Shifty, Scarface, Maggie, Lefty, Nitro, Ed, and the order is to shoot gang members, not shoot innocent people. Watch out for Nitro Ed, he likes to play with grenades. One shot pushes up daisies. Good luck.
Move the joystick to aim at the gang and press the button to shoot. Ammo is limited, so don't shoot wildly. Sometimes you will see Nitro Ed on the roof holding a grenade. Shoot him to disarm him. You will get money for shooting the gangsters. At level 1, Mugsy=$20Scare Face=$30Lefty=$40Shifty=$50Disarming Nitro Ed=$100 This amount increases by $10 per level. You will also receive $10 for each bullet left after each level. There are 6 levels, the fourth level is the night level. In this level, you must fire a bullet to light up the window. If you don't shoot for a few seconds, it will turn dark again.
If you shoot an innocent person, you lose $1000, or the full amount if it is less than $1000.
If a gangster gets up from the window at the same time, he is shot after a few seconds and loses a bulletproof vest (life). If you lose all bulletproof vests, the game is over and Nitro Ed will laugh at you. If Nitro Ed fires a grenade, the game is over, regardless of the number of vests you have. Nitro Ed will laugh at you. You start with 4 vests and you can get another one for $5000.
Gas Hog
Gas Hog was an Atari 2600 game released in 1983. Developed by Roklan Corporation, this is one of the earliest incarnations of a game that would be classified as a “shooter”.
The game-play in Gas Hog is fairly easy to understand. The player controls a bi-pedal robot, named Hog Dog, which must refuel his hovercraft in order to move it through 20 levels of expertly-crafted alien worlds. If the Hog Dog runs out of fuel, he will lose one of his three lives associated with the game. Along the way, Hog Dog must battle aliens and other aliens inspired creatures that guard their fuel sources.
In addition to the fuel source that Hog Dog collects, the game also features other hazards found in the environment. These include exploding asteroids, crashing meteors, and enemies that are trying to get in Hog Dog’s way. The objective of Gas Hog is to collect the fuel and defeat all enemies in each level before the time limit runs out.
Gas Hog received positive reception since its launch in 1983, with its exciting and engaging game-play capture the imagination of many young game-players. The game provided a sense of challenge to the gamer, as it required players to carefully navigate their way through each level, while taking advantage of the available resources and getting the most fuel to fuel up the hovercraft.
The vintage style graphics used in the game are quite impressive, albeit dated, bringing the player into an enjoyable world fit for a retro arcade. The sound effects also do justice to the game, with the main characters making unique and distinctive grunting and groans as they struggle to refuel their hovercraft.
An enjoyable and challenging game, Gas Hog became a hit with players and remains remembered as an early variation of the “shooter” game genre. It is an important piece of Atari 2600 game history.
Mangia'
Mama Mia! So much pasta!
Mama brings the pasta to the table. You have to eat the pasta, throw it to Frankie the cat by the window or to Sergio the dog under the table.
You have 4 lives; if you eat more than 20 plates of pasta, you burst and lose 1 life. If you put more than 9 pasta dishes on the table, the table collapses and you lose 1 life.
To eat pasta, move the joystick to the right and then to the left. To throw the pasta to your pet, move the joystick to the right and then gently up or down. The best time to throw is when mom's back is to you, the cat is by the window or the dog is in the right position under the table. If you toss toward the floor or window when the pet is out of position, or if Mom sees you tossing food to the pet, you will be asked to bring three dishes next time. Remember that if there are more than 9 dishes on the table, it's 'arriverci una vita' (goodbye one life).
To complete a level, you must eat or throw a certain number of pasta dishes.
1=31
2=32
3=35

Master Builder
Wanted: Master Builder Someone to build the Spectra building according to the plans. To apply, insert the cartridge into the Atari 2600 and turn it on.
For 5 seconds, it will show you what to build. To get a brick, go to any side of the screen and press that direction. To stack bricks, press fire and then press down. When Spectradog appears on the screen, press the joystick to the top right or left to jump over it or you will lose a life. When the building is higher, the boy will steal the ladder. When the brat appears on the screen, you must get off the ladder or you will fall down and lose a life. When a building has several floors, you must be careful not to stay on the top floor, as lightning may strike and you may lose a life. If you lose a life, you will also lose all the bricks you had.
Once you have completed the building, you must climb the ladder, push it up and call a helicopter to go to the next site. If the building is not right, the helicopter will come for you, but it will drop you near the edge of the screen and you will lose a life. You can choose between a game with unlimited time and unlimited bricks or a game with unlimited bricks and unlimited time.
Tape Worm
You are a tapeworm. You have to move through the bean field and eat beans. Each time you eat a bean, your body length increases and the number of beans decreases by one.
The beans appear randomly in the field, and if you don't eat them before the beetle in the background moves from left to right, your count will be zero. If you go right before the beetle takes the bean, two beans will appear in the patch and two will be added to the count.
Occasionally, the Beaky bird or the Spanky spider will pass through the bean patch. In later levels, an obstacle will appear in the middle of the patch.
If you put your head (yellow square) on the obstacle or on the side of the patch, or if your head is on your body, or if Spanky or Beaky put their head on you (or eat it), you will lose a life.
The third patch is at night. When you get a bean, you can see the patch for two seconds. If you want to see more, press the fire button to make it brighter for another two seconds, but it costs one bean.
The levels and their point values are
Apple (5 points per bean, 50 points per apple)
Orange (10 points per bean, 100 points)
Grape (15 points per bean, 150 points)
Strawberry (20 points per bean, 200 points)
Banana (25 points per seed, 250 points)
For every 1,000 points, you will receive a bonus worm. You can have a maximum of four worms in reserve.
