Dizzy: Down the Rapids

Dizzy: Down the Rapids is a video game in the action genre and published by Codemasters Software Company Limited, The originally released in 1992. It is currently playable on Commodore 64.

Dizzy and Daisy have gotten lost in the Enchanted Forest while picking berries and have ended up by a river. Hiding in the bushes, the troll Rockwart and his band of Henchtrolls confront the heroes. Floating next to them in the water is an old apple barrel, so jumping in they begin a journey down the rapids in search of safety. As they float down the river, Dizzy must avoid other creatures and obstacles, for if he touches them he will lose one of his three lives. There are also dragons that fire cannons at the bridges and mini hurricanes that send Dizzy in another direction. Dizzy can throw apples at creatures, but these are limited but replenish after dying.

The game is viewed in front of Dizzy at a high angle as the screen scrolls vertically when Dizzy moves. Two players can play on the screen at the same time, but the screen will only scroll when the last player moves.
