Description Escape from Doomworld

Escape from Doomworld is a three-part game in which you have to rescue as many of the stranded scientists from the planet Helcara, in the Brithya sector. An enemy force has penetrated the sector and has built a base on the planet near the research facility housing the scientists who have been captured. The Scientists who evaded capture are now stranded and need you to rescue them before they are captured. Before starting the game you can select the speed of the timer in each part and if it reaches zero it is game over. The three parts of the game contain the following:

Part One: The first part is a quick screen platformer in which you have to collect energy cells to fill an energy gauge, as well as a key and a weapon. The screens are divided into three levels and you have to jump to reach a higher level while avoiding the numerous creatures moving around each screen. If you touch any creature, you lose one of the seven lives, but the collected cells are kept. Once the meter is full and the other elements collected, you move on to the next part.

Part Two: You are now in your spaceship in this side-scrolling shooter in which the screen scrolls left or right as you move your ship. There are 12 scientists that must be picked up from the surface of the planet and brought back to your base at the starting point. As you fly several aliens appear that must be shot or avoided because if you touch them you lose a life. The energy meter that you filled in the first part now decreases, but you can pick up fuel pods that fly on the screen to maintain your energy or lose a life when it empties. You can only carry four scientists at a time, but if you are killed while carrying any, they are lost and when all scientists are alive or dead, it goes to the final part.

Part Three: The final part is a single screen side view game where you are back in your ship trying to collect three bombs to save the planet. There are several columns and between the gaps are the bombs and you have to fly through the gaps without touching the columns to collect all three. Also, on the screen there are more aliens to avoid and once you have collected all three bombs, the mission is complete.
