Escape from Monster Castle is a video game in the action genre originally released in 1993. It is currently playable on DOS.

Escape from Monster Castle is a Gauntlet-style action game in which you have to fight your way through waves of enemies and obstacles to reach the exit and escape the castle. There are many different enemies with different abilities. Enemies usually pop out of the heads of monsters. You have to collect items such as health packs, keys and bombs to make your way through the castle.

The game can be played by up to 2 players. The shareware version comes with 5 levels. The full version contains more levels and a level editor.

Escape from Monster-Castle is an action game for 1 or 2 players.The goal is to get as many points as possible.To do this, you have to find the respective goals on the playing fields and fight many monsters along the way. Along the way, you can find and collect different useful objects, which you can then use as needed. (keys, refresh the player's condition, bombs).

Control is usually by PC analog joysticks, but digital joysticks with an external or internal digital-to-analog converter are better. To connect two joysticks at the same time you need an adapter cable for 2 connections. (Get one or make your own).

If the game is started for one player, the game can be controlled alternatively with the keyboard or the joystick. If the game is started for two players, the second player is controlled with the keyboard or joystick 2. The fire key is represented by the space bar, the 8 possible directions are controlled by keys 1-4 and 6-9 of the numeric keypad.

For the game you should have a fast computer, so that the game is not too slow. To realize the continuous movement of the monsters, a relatively high computer effort is necessary. The lowest limit is a 386 DX with 25 MHz, better is an even faster computer.
