Description Fog

First released in 1983, Fog is an Atari 8-bit game developed by First Star Software, a New York-based independent software company determined to revolutionize the gaming industry.

The game allows players to take charge of an adventurous fog horn, the object being to navigate a treasury of mazes. Accompanied with a time limit, players must collect all the treasures, and then make their way to the near exit located within the maze. Bolstering the challenge, these mazes are riddled with obstacles like sliding rock tiles, spiked walls, and locked doors which inhibit progress, as well as guard dogs, ghosts, and spiders set to thwart the mission.

Funking up the action is a range of bonus items, offering additional points for mastering levels. These range from showers of sparkly stars when successful in promoting jarring screams when time flows out.

Evading these obstacles and enemies is carried out by a clear direction pad, allowing the fog horn to move in each cardinal direction or allowing the player to jump, as well as a fire button which can activate a glimmer energy sword, dispatched to eradicate any creatures blocking the treasure chest.

Incorporating colorful visuals and original character design, Fog is an intrinsically entertaining and addictive puzzle game. Distinct and unique, it is a timeless classic worth playing even today.
