Golf Master

Golf Master is a video game in the sports genre and published by Hewson Consultants Ltd. originally released in 1988. It is currently playable on Commodore 64.

Golf Master is a golf game in which you can play a full round of golf on a course alone or with up to three friends. Before playing there are several options that can be selected. There are three skill levels, beginner, amateur or professional, which affect the strength of the wind. You can also choose whether you want to play in a competition among yourself or with friends, or practice on any hole. Finally, you can select how many holes or which holes to play. 1-18, 1-9, 10-18 or on one hole out of 18.

The game itself is a top-down view showing a part of the course. If you hold down the space bar, the screen scrolls showing the rest of the course. Now you have several options to select your shot. You can choose the club, the direction and the power of the shot. Once you are satisfied with your selection, you do not have to play the shot, but you will see a short animation of the shot. If you play with friends, you have to wait for each player to complete the hole, not after each shot as in real golf.
