Graham Gooch's Test Cricket is a video game in the sports genre and published by Audiogenic Software Ltd. originally released in 1985. It is currently playable on Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, BBC Micro, Electron.
It's time to grab your bat and pads, put on your whites and play a game of cricket. In this computer version of the game, you can choose the length of the match (40, 50, 60 overs or two innings), the number of players (one or two), the skill level (one to nine) and whether you want to play a simulation or arcade version. You then choose the eleven players for each team: goalkeepers, catchers and bowlers.
The main game is seen showing a small part of the field from behind the bowler at a high angle. Also shown are: the batsmen, the wicket-keeper and the slip catcher. In simulation mode you control the direction of the ball when bowling. In arcade mode you can also determine the speed. For the batter, in simulation mode you can play defensively or aggressively. In arcade mode you always play aggressively. If a ball is hit on the field, a side view is shown at a high angle of the fielders chasing the ball. The computer determines how many runs you get.
