Description Harbour Attack

Your mission in Harbour Attack is to take control of a submarine and try to reach the enemy harbor before attempting to destroy a cargo ship in three single-screen stages. The stages consist of:

Stage One: Viewed from the side, you must steer the submarine from the left of the screen to the right while avoiding touching mines or nets before your air supply runs out. You can only move up to a certain point and if your depth gauge turns red, any further descent destroys your submarine. If you touch a mine or net, run out of air or go too low, you lose a life (five lives on the C64, four on the C16).

Second phase: Seen from the side and with a depth gauge to watch again, you must now destroy a certain number of planes and ships (you have to kill or avoid an octopus on the C64). You can only shoot on the surface and this will also increase your air supply which decreases underwater. Ships will fire torpedoes and depth charges while planes drop bombs. Hitting a ship, being hit by a gun, running out of air or going too low loses a life.

Third stage: The final stage has you in a harbor and the view now changes to a first-person perspective. The bow of the ship is at the bottom of the screen and the freighter to destroy is at the bottom of the screen. You must fire a torpedo on the screen and aim it to hit a cross on the freighter while avoiding hitting the barges moving across the screen. You must destroy the freighter before your air supply runs out, and if you fail to do so, you will lose a life.
