Description Hex

Hex is a turn-based strategy game that takes place on a grid of Hexagons, each of which is linked to 5 other tiles. You face one or two of the computer's 12 opponents (various animals including a jellyfish, a dodo, and a shape-shifting elemental character) depending on the level, each of whom claims a color, and aims to step on each tile to turn on its color a lá QBert. Each time a tile touches another tile of the same color, those tiles are linked (think of how one country forms an alliance with another), and you must activate them all to see any difference.

The game rewards passing levels by offering spells, ranging from faster movement to swapping positions to 'confusion' sales, which change the color in which the squares appear. These are selected from a drop-down menu with the mouse.
