Description High Grenadier
High Grenadier is a turn-based strategy game with role-playing elements. The game has a rather abstract storyline describing a battle between two human organizations, each piloting and commanding giant mechs; no further details are revealed in the game. The game takes place on a battlefield composed of points connected by lines; both the player-controlled army and the opponent's army can only move between adjacent points.
The player has six commanders at his disposal; each of them can command several mechas in battle. Three commanders are available initially, while others can be called into battle later. Once a player-controlled unit and an enemy unit meet at the same point, the player can order the commander to attack, defend or retreat. The battle takes place automatically and its outcome is calculated based on the statistics of both units. The role-playing element consists of leveling up the parts of the mecha; after a battle a number of experience points are awarded, which the player can freely distribute to increase the mecha's parameters.
