Hunter Patrol

Hunter Patrol is a video game in the action genre and published by Mastertronic Ltd. originally released in 1985. It is currently playable on Commodore 64.

You are the pilot of a plane on a one-man mission to destroy major enemy targets as well as destroy a number of facilities. The game is viewed from a 3rd person perspective as you fly on screen with the enemy sending planes and anti-aircraft fire to stop you. You must fly as low as possible along the terrain and destroy a set amount of facilities and as you destroy them, a meter decreases. There are four types of facilities you must destroy: vehicles, radar stations and buildings. You can also fly to the top of the screen to destroy the planes that cross the screen and if you touch a plane, facility or anti-aircraft fire, you lose one of five lives.

Once you have destroyed the set number of installations, you can try to destroy the main target by flying as low to the ground as possible. You fly towards the target by firing your bullets until it passes in front of you. You have four attempts to destroy it and, if you fail, you have to destroy the facility again before attempting to destroy the target. If you destroy the target, you will receive an extra life and move on to the next set of facilities and target to destroy.
