With a name like that, what can you expect, except an isometric shooter with strong Zaxxon influences? However, while Zak's Son doesn't try to hide its influences, it doesn't slavishly imitate its model. Unlike Zaxxon, you pilot a helicopter, and this game completely lacks the concept of height above ground. Every shot you fire will hit whatever you come across, whether on the ground or in the air. You also have to keep an eye on the fuel level. By shooting at canisters marked with an F, you replenish your dwindling fuel reserve. If you don't, the game is over and you lose your three lives. The game is played entirely in high-resolution black and white.
