IDSI's Rack 'em Up!

IDSI's Rack 'em Up! is a video game in the sports genre and published by Roklan Corporation originally released in 1983. It is currently playable on Commodore 64.

IDSI's Rack 'em Up! is a single screen top view billiards game for one to four players, with a choice of four game types, 8-ball pool, 9-ball pool, straight and spin. If there are more than two players, it is two against one or two against two to try to beat the other players or to try to get the best score in the solo game. All the normal pool rules for foul balls and the games involved are included:

8-Ball: The balls are divided into two equal types, stripes and spots, and a black ball (8-Ball). Players attempt to pocket any of the balls (except the 8-Ball) and when they succeed, that type of ball is pocketed by that player for the rest of the game and the other type by the other player. The winner is the player who pockets all the balls of his type and the black ball last. If the black ball is pocketed during the game, the player who pocketed it loses the game.

9-Ball: There are nine numbered balls (1-9) on the table and the shooter has to pocket the lowest ball on the table and each player keeps trying to pocket it until the winning player pockets the 9-ball.

Straight: Also called 14.1, the game has players try to reach a certain score by receiving one point for each ball pocketed without a foul. A typical score for the game is 100 points. The player also has to say which pocket they want to pocket the ball in.

Rotation: Players must reach a certain score (usually 61) by first hitting the lowest ball on the table before attempting to pocket the ball with the highest score to receive that many points. The lowest ball on the table can be used to sink another ball in a pocket.
