Impossible Creatures

Impossible Creatures is a video game in the strategy genre developed by Relic Entertainment and published by Microsoft Game Studios originally released in 2003. It is currently playable on Windows.

Impossible Creatures is a real-time strategy with a twist. Instead of building a 'Unit A' and a 'Unit B' like almost all other real-time strategies, in this game the player acquires animal DNA and joins them together, creating unique hybrids of two different animals. Use the strength of a bull, with the speed of a cheetah and the player could have a Cheebull, or give a skunk extra defense and mix it with a porcupine, making a Porskunkine. With dozens of different animal DNAs to combine, the combinations are almost endless.

The plot of the main campaign goes something like this. Your father, whom you haven't seen since your childhood, sends you a letter saying that he doesn't have long to live, and that there's a secret he must tell you before he passes away. So you head out to one of the uncharted islands he works on, but you're suddenly ambushed by half-wolf, half-scorpion nature monsters. Using the creature workshop and DNA collected from the animals, you must create your own hybrids to rescue your father.

Each hybrid creature has several areas of the body in which it can be meshed. The head, the legs, the back, the butt, everything can be attributed by either of the two creatures involved in the mix.
