Description JETPilot

JETPilot was the last commercial flight simulator released for the Amiga for at least a decade, and it was already replacing two NATO fighters that were already being replaced in most air forces around the world: the English Electric Lightning and the Lockheed F-104. It simulated a Starfighter (the cynical reader may think that at this point it looks a bit like an Amiga). In addition, a retro Warsaw Pact-era MiG-21 is also available.

Jet Pilot bills itself as 'the pinnacle of realistic flight simulation' and makes no attempt to hide the complexity of real-life pilots. Aircraft are available in a variety of specifications, and real airfields have been recreated throughout Scandinavia. The environment can be adjusted to your preferences in terms of temperature, wind and atmospheric pressure, as well as time of day and day of the week. Communications between aircraft and with the control tower are also handled with precision, and some of Vulcansoft's signature voice technology is also used.

In the quest for realism, JetPilot ignores the digital joystick, something no other Amiga simulator has done. The mouse and analog joysticks are the primary controls, and the mouse is also used to move the head in the cockpit and access functions. The keyboard is also taken full advantage of.

Despite being a late program, JetPilot uses filled polygons, which are well known for their graphical rendering, but supports high-resolution, flicker-free graphics on the applicable machines.
