Kid Gloves

Kid Gloves is a video game in the action genre developed by Millennium Interactive Ltd. and published by Millennium Interactive Ltd. originally released in 1990. It is currently playable on Amiga, Atari ST.

Although not released for 8-bit systems, this platformer has a distinctly Commodore 64 feel to it. Bright primary colors and smiling characters serve to tell the story of Kid's journey to rescue his girlfriend.

The levels feature a variety of enemies to kill, such as snakes, goblins and crocodiles, as well as flames and spinning wheels. Many of them appear during the level, forcing you to plan ahead. You have 10 lives, but the loss of one resets the level to its original state. The initial coin toss is pretty weak, but you can buy better weapons (as well as extra lives and smart bombs) from the store, which appears every 5 screens.

Levels are quick-screen, and can usually be finished in different ways, resulting in different starting positions on the next screen, and you can travel back and forth through them, for example to collect bonuses that are visible but not accessible at the start of the level.
