Klony, an Atari 8-bit video game developed by Blackjet Software and released in 2006, pairs classic arcade-style action with some clever puzzle-solving. Players assume the role of Clony, a robot who must make their way through an amalgamation of 56 stages spread across 8 unique zones. The ultimate goal is to engineer a way out of each stage, collecting spare parts along the way.

Gameplay begins with Clony navigating from one stage to the next. Along the way, the robot must use its sensors to detect and avoid hazardous environments, such as traps and locks. In addition, the player must make use of Clony’s wide array of special abilities, including jumping, luring enemies, and manipulating objects. This is complemented by the game’s vibrant soundtrack.

Tasked with escaping the various zones of Klony, players must solve different puzzles by manipulating the robots and environment as needed. At times, the puzzle’s solution may involve the player operating levers or combining several different special abilities. Some of the game’s puzzles may be intuitive, while others may require a bit of experimentation.

The challenge doesn’t end with the puzzles, however. Clony must also protect itself from waves of enemies including aliens, robots, and machines programmed to attack and cause all kinds of mayhem to prevent the player from advancing. To survive, the player must use their quick reflexes to dodge the enemy onslaught or eliminate the threats using Clony’s built-in arm cannon.

Klony is an exciting retro-style Atari 8-bit video game, featuring colorful visuals and a wide array of puzzles. Players must use their ingenuity, and a few special abilities, to help Clony find its way out of the various zones. Simultaneously, a player’s skill and reflexes will be put to the test as they must battle waves of enemies that have the same goal in mind.
