Magical Formula

Magical Formula is a video game in the action genre developed by Electric Brains Productions and published by 64'er originally released in 1997. It is currently playable on Commodore 64.

Hundreds of years ago, when snails still inhabited the Earth, Sonny the Snail lived happily with his parents in a place called Snail Meadow, and was about to marry Dawny, the snail woman of his dreams. All his happiness ended one day when troops of evil skeletons invaded Snail Meadow, robbed every house, killed his livestock and kidnapped the snail women. After seeing that the Snail Prairie was living in great sadness, a snail sorcerer decided to help them, but to do so he needed several magical items - which include scrolls, mushrooms, bags of money and bags of coins - in order to create his Magical Formula used to help locate the snail's companions. Send Sonny to collect these items.

While Sonny is busy collecting these placed objects, he must contend with a variety of enemies - including enemy snails, green aliens, spinning skulls, balls and bombs - by throwing slime at them. In addition, he must avoid acid rain dripping from the platforms. If Sonny comes into contact with any of the inhabitants or the acid rain, he loses one of his lives. When destroyed, some enemies leave behind certain power-ups that grant Sonny extra lives, time or points. Occasionally, Sonny must destroy 'huge enemies', including a cloud that shoots lightning at him and two huge brains, and a skull named Freddy Snailcracker. Once Sonny has collected enough magic items, he moves on to the next environment.
