Medieval

Medieval is a video game in the strategy genre and published by Incredible Simulations originally released in 2000. It is currently playable on Windows.

If you think you have a knack for strategy games, then Medieval is one to try. Developed by Interplay Entertainment in 2000, Medieval takes you back to a world of jousting and kings.

In this single or multiple-player game, you assume the role of a lord and must help your city grow financially and militarily. After a siege or two, you can dictate several economic and political decisions, like when to levy taxes. That said, Medieval has created an expansive and detailed world of kings and conquest.

One of the most interesting features of the game is the ability to forge alliances with other cities. Doing so means you can increase your economic and military power, allowing for even bigger battlefields.

The battle sequences in Medieval are fairly intense. You can choose when to manage armies and when to put them into battle. You can even decide whether to use siege engines or send in spies. Before each battle, you must decide which unit to build and when to upgrade them. All these factors make for a very immersive and strategic battle experience.

There are plenty of events that occur within the game to keep players on their toes. Natural disasters, like earthquakes, can devastate your cities and require urgent responses and strategies. If handled correctly, these events can hugely benefit your kingdom.

Accompanied by an alluring theme song, Medieval offers gamers the chance to construct and defend their own kingdom. Each game no matter how many players, creates singularly unique worlds. The complexity and computer-controlled rivals throughout ensure every playthrough is totally unpredictable. Medieval is sure to keep you playing for hours and trying win after win as make your mark on the ancient world.
