Megabolts

Megabolts is a video game in the action genre developed by Mr Chip Software and published by Mastertronic Ltd. originally released in 1986. It is currently playable on Commodore 16, Plus/4.

Your task is to destroy all the Megabolts that have invaded your world across 64 screens in an 8x8 grid connected by various passages. The game is a maze viewed from above with each maze displayed over the entire screen and you must control a ship by killing all the Megabolt ships moving through the maze. To kill them you can shoot them with your laser or you can smash them with part of a wall that you shoot at to move. There is also a rotating yellow ship moving through the maze that you can't shoot at but avoid. If you touch this rotating ship or a Megabolt, you will lose one of your six lives.

As you move through the maze you have a slowly decreasing fuel meter and when it runs out you lose a life, but you can collect orange diamonds on the move to increase it. In addition to the main play area, you can also see your score, your lives, your high score, how many Megabolts you have to destroy in that maze, your location on the grid and an alert telling you which grids still have Megabolts active.
